Concept 2
“Words sans Dyslexia”
In cooperation with INNOCEAN Worldwide and Dyslexia Scotland, the project was to create a new font typeface based on the infamous Comic Sans typeface. Studies have shown that Comic Sans font, for people with dyslexia, improves reading comprehension. After further research, our team combined contrasting colors and various sans and sans serif lettering to create a headline font. Graphic designers could use this font, thereby aiding dyslexics in viewing and understanding their designs. We also created an OOH print ad based on insight from two dyslexic team members. Both team members recalled how frustrating being undiagnosed during their primary school years was. They constantly received poor marks on their written assignments. At the same time, they and their teachers were unaware they had dyslexia. I really enjoyed this project and got to work with incredibly talented people. It's one of my favorite projects to have been a part of.
